The Perfect Small Picnic Blanket That Fits into Your Pocket – the Matador!

Posted on October 6, 2018October 19, 2018 by Shelley Ann Morgan

The best trips away are the ones that allow you to jump out of your vehicle and explore an area by foot. Whether it’s a picnic at a festival, an outdoor show, the beach, parks or bushland – the discerning traveller doesn’t need to worry about carrying extra weight in a bag or backpack anymore, not with the Matador Pocket Blanket – it fits into the palm of your hand and your pocket!

Popular by hikers and bushwalkers, the Matador is a fold up picnic blanket – with enough room for two. The idea is great, it is so lightweight (similar to a small ladies purse) that can be kept in a backpack or handbag. It provides peace of mind knowing that you can stop and rest anywhere outdoors, at any time and enjoy any event, or anywhere in our diverse scenic nature surrounds.

However, it is important to note, the plastic type of material which it is made from makes this fabric water-resistant, and easy to fold up and store (in its nifty little pouch that’s attached to it). But if you’re someone like me who likes a bit of extra warmth, I often carry a long sleeve top (or jacket) that I can wrap around my waist, then place that on the Matador – knowing it won’t be damaged by moisture, dirt, sand or grass when I go to sit down. It keeps me warm and everything is so easy to carry in the process. But if you’re like my husband, the Matador on its own is perfect for him without anything extra.

Whenever I know I’m going to be outdoors, I take it with me just in case. I’ve used it at festivals and shows where I thought there would be chairs (and there wasn’t), and bushwalks – when we were only going on a short walk – and it turned out to be longer (i.e. we got lost). It certainly brought a smile to my face – one of those nice comforts, the feeling of when you’ve either been walking or standing for hours and there is nowhere to sit, but the damp ground, and then you finally get a chance to sit back and relax, on the protected ground – on a picnic blanket! Ahh, comfort!

This would have to be my favourite travel item, I’ve had it for over a year now, so far it still looks new too!

Highly recommend it to any savvy traveller!
